Weapons in Spain. Bonus content on implicit bias radio. Somebody cut Renee off. Drunkle has made no Drunkle has not made an appearance here on the TSPO. That was good. That was good. Look, this to me is maybe the biggest no shit moment for anybody with a quarter of a functioning brain.
SPEAKER_02And hopefully a blue roof.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well. Caleb, so well done. You're jumping ahead for our listeners, so we need to connect the dots for him first.
SPEAKER_02We'll get there. We'll get there.
SPEAKER_00The United States in the past week admitted to putting weapons on satellites in space. Shocker. I mean, didn't we know about this in Spies Like Us?
SPEAKER_02Amen.
SPEAKER_00Right? Doctor, Doctor, Doctor, and Doctor. Renee, what's a dick for? It's to pee with. It's a dick for. What's a dick for to pee with?
SPEAKER_01Reagan did that, and that's why he bankrupted Russia. Or you Soviet Union. Okay, so Star Wars bankrupted him. But you but it wasn't set yet.
SPEAKER_00Well, no, do you remember the the narrative around the Star Wars system? Right. It was that it was never actually feasible. No. But they spent so much money on propaganda. And they sold it. I think that's bullshit. I think it was actually being worked on. Well, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I'm sure they were working on it.
SPEAKER_02Well, the greatest lie is the one that you tell.
SPEAKER_01But at the time, I don't think they could do it, but they were definitely thinking we need to do this shit and figure out how to do it. But at the time, they convinced the Soviet Union that we had it. I don't think we did at the time. And then bankrupted the Soviet Union. But now I think we got it.
SPEAKER_00So here's what I will say. I think the greatest.
SPEAKER_01I mean, Elon's throwing rockets up like fucking crazy. I mean, it's just stuff up there.
SPEAKER_00I think the greatest lie is the lie that has just enough truth in it to deceive you from what's actually going on. This is what the story was around the Star Wars system. It was a satellite network that would destroy any missile the Russians put into orbit, right?
SPEAKER_01Using lasers.
SPEAKER_00So here's what I believe.
SPEAKER_01Well kind of torpedoes like in Star Trek.
SPEAKER_00Correct. What I believe is that we had a system in space. It just wasn't that system. It wasn't as advanced, maybe, or maybe it wasn't shooting down missiles, but maybe it was. I mean, and Caleb, you brought up the blue roofs. Do we connect these dots and go, well, gee, did somebody get a hold of the keys to the to the car? And they took mom and dad's car out for a spin so they could give Oprah some new property in Hawaii?
SPEAKER_02I don't know. Just her. You know, it's other people too. But when you look at it, right, when we think about outer space, if you want to have a traditional weapon, you have to transport fuel and oxygen. Huh. We can do that. Or you can go at an energy weapon.
SPEAKER_00Huh. We can do that. Do you have to have an energy weapon in space? Or it could be a kinetic weapon. So wait, you're talking to you. When you say kinetic, you do you wouldn't mean something like 25 to 30 foot tungsten rods weighing about 10 to 15,000 pounds apiece that are guided that have no propellant behind them by the time by the time they would be pulled through the atmosphere would be basically a 9,000 pound molten missile that would not leave any radioactive activity, but the impact would be about the same as a 10 megaton nuclear weapon. You wouldn't be talking about anything like that, would you?
SPEAKER_02Not at all. It's not like we can really mathematically figure out exactly where the release point would have to be over a continent or ocean so that as the rotation of the Earth gets up to it, it would accelerate to Mach 3.2. Nah no, not possible.
SPEAKER_01We got a guy who fucking figured out how to catch a rocket. You don't think we could do that? Yeah. Yeah, but he's South African. Well, that's true.
SPEAKER_00He is a true African American. Um the the unique part about this though is the options that we have in space to me are so great. Because and I I love telling this story. I actually had a a friend in college, he was a few years older than us, who was an engineer at Mishu, the NASA facility outside of New Orleans. This is 1992, 93. And we're having a conversation. I said, What do you do? And he says, Well, I work on tracking systems and all this. I said, Okay, what can we do? Because if you remember, we'd just come from the movie Real Genius, where they were mounting a laser on a suborbital uh plane that would then track and shoot down things. This engineer for NASA told me, Kavon, we can spot the golf ball from space, we can track it from the T as it goes down the fairway in the air. We can't quite melt it before it lands on the ground. And I was like, it's 1993. You have no need for terrestrial-based snipers at this point, unless you don't want your enemies to know what you can do. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I mean, you're like, it's 1993. We just got rid of the foxbody. Can we really do this? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Well, I mean, you don't play with your super top secret toys because then your enemies know. You keep that secret until you really, really, really, really need it. I mean, look at the case. I mean, there's there, the Air Force now has has laser weapons on aircraft they're playing with, they have shooting down drones and stuff like that.
SPEAKER_00They have rail guns on Navy ships.
SPEAKER_02We had rail guns, we have electromagnetic firearms, we had the dread, uh, we had LRAD, we had all these other things that years ago were like, well, this is cutting edge, and we were like, We have a whistleblower now that says the United States government has built a city underground that Grand Canyon?
SPEAKER_00No. Oh, sorry. No, no, no, no, we didn't build that. That was already here.
SPEAKER_02Exactly.
SPEAKER_00But they are saying we they've built a city underground that can house like 21,000 people.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it was under Green Bar Country Club, that's where the Congress would go.
SPEAKER_00This this is we're we'll get into that story. We're gonna do it on a on a full episode because it's a really interesting conversation from the whistleblower. But if we can go down into the earth, we can go up into space. And we know this. And we here in Louisiana are about to be really privy. The good news about Starbase, it's gonna be it'll be a veritable cash cow, I think, here in southern Louisiana. The bad news is we have just elevated rural Louisiana to international military target number one for every single enemy we have. Because if you tell me that Elon's not sending up weapons, be real, I'm calling you a lie.
SPEAKER_02We were already a target, right? We look at the ports, we look at everything else. Look at how much comes in to Louisiana. The oil reserves. Yeah. Yeah, our oil reserves, everything else. Henry Hub.
SPEAKER_00Henry, that's what I was gonna say. Henry Hub's been the largest natural gas pipeline feeder to the world.
SPEAKER_02There are so many reasons. And look, Louisiana has misappropriated its own funds for a long time. No. And I am I am grateful that we have Elon and we have Meta and everyone else that's wanting to invest in Louisiana now because this I see is our first time in my generation for Louisiana to catch up and surpass the many, many other states that we've been lagging behind. And I hope that we can do this responsibly and that our children and grandchildren will benefit from this because for the first time, my ranch is on the horizon. You know, like it might be something bigger than that.
SPEAKER_00I just want the head engineer for SpaceX and Pacone Island to be a Pecone Island native. Bruh, if that happens, Bruh nobody could understand.
SPEAKER_02It doesn't matter. He can write it down in English. Yeah, spell well, but he can write it down.
SPEAKER_00Look, if that happens, they're gonna start the countdown with 30, tonne9, tonne-eight, tonne of seven. What comes before 20, 24? I mean, no.
SPEAKER_02I'm looking forward to it. Like this is and look, whenever whenever they they talked about why they chose that location, it's because statistically and scientifically, it was it was the place that was.
SPEAKER_01Because their flight path would go over the Gulf, so there's no population areas underneath it. The only thing that concerns me is that I hope our elected officials, our Louisiana government doesn't piss the money away that we're gonna have coming in because of this.
SPEAKER_00So a couple of things. Number one, some of it will go, you know that because it's just the nature of the beast.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Number two, there's probably enough that what goes won't matter. Well, numberful. Number three, back to the weapons, which is what I enjoy. Yes.
SPEAKER_01Well, that's why I don't worry about people targeting Pican Island. Because, bruh, we got a shitload of guns down here.
SPEAKER_00No, it's not that. It's not that. It's that if we are target number one, you think we don't know that? And you think the smartest dude on the planet doesn't know that? The dude that figured out how to catch a rocket, you think he doesn't know that? You think he doesn't know how to stop a missile if he can catch a rocket?
SPEAKER_01He's seen a shoot teal. He's good. And he's already, and he's already put the feelers out. He's already hiring a security force for that area. That's been a story out there now, because he knows where to get good shots.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yes, he does. Yes, he does. He knows that it's all part of our implicit bias. Tell your friends like, follow, subscribe, share, and enjoy. A sip of weekly whiskey, a great weekend, and your implicit bias. Cheers.
